TOM BRADY has revealed why the Las Vegas Raiders picked Cam Miller over Shedeur Sanders in the NFL Draft.
Fans had been expecting to see Sanders head to Sin City after Brady mentored him several years ago.
The former Colorado man had also been hailed by NFL’s most decorated star as having incredible potential.
But supporters were shocked when Sanders was snubbed by the Raiders and others in the first round of the Draft.
Amazingly, the quarter-back ended up being ignored until the fifth round when he was picked up by the Cleveland Browns as No144.
Meanwhile, fellow QB Cam Miller ended up joining the Raiders instead.
And Brady reportedly gave him a glowing endorsement before the deal was finalised.
According to the Athletic, Brady “liked the way he (Miller) threw it, his technique, throwing from the ground up and his motion.
“And he thought he had the potential to improve.”
The Raiders’ move for Bayliss over Sanders came as a surprise considering Brady’s comments on the latter in 2023.
Brady said at the time: “I see someone who has a great work ethic but wants the knowledge too.
“People always ask me, 'How good do you think this guy is going to be?’ And I always say, it depends on who he surrounds himself with.
“It depends who mentors him. Because even you, [Deion Sanders], weren't a finished product at 21 or 22. I certainly wasn't. I had the right people come into my life and I was open to learning from them.
“Naturally, he's very proactive. We had a conversation, then phone calls, then then text messages, and then him making the commitment to say ‘all right, this is what I want to do, I'm very serious about it.’
“A lot of it is you want to see what their intention is too because when you see someone that's really open to learning and has a thirst for knowledge, you want to be able to support that.”
