Shortly after Porsha Williams announced her return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta for Season 16, she filed for divorce from her husband of 15 months, Simon Guobadia.

Since then, Porsha has been relatively tight-lipped about what exactly led to the split, but she shared new insight into her divorce on the March 9 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
She first revealed what the "final straw" was to end the marriage.
"It was the betrayal of what I thought we had, yeah," she explained. "I really thought we were the best communicators with each other and, unfortunately, I didn't realize that he had love bombed me and was taking it back, so our relationship had kind of swapped over. And I just realized I needed more, and I think women should be able to stand up and say, 'I need more. More truth, more this, more that, and a whole lot of other things.'"
Porsha said something similar about Simon on the RHOA Season 16 premiere.
"For me and our relationship, I used to pride myself on us having great communication,” she said in an interview on the episode. "And, when communication started to lack, it felt intentional."
She also said that she was still processing the demise of her relationship with the Nigerian businessman. "My divorce from Simon, I haven’t dealt with the emotional part yet," she said on the episode. “I’ve had to deal with logistics. It’s really weird. It feels really cold."

More than a year after her initial divorce filing, Porsha and Simon are still legally married. "I am still married," Porsha told host Andy Cohen on WWHL in March 2025.
Though she faced a bit of a delay in finalizing the divorce, Porsha is optimistic that it will soon be behind her. "It should be over soon," she added of the legal process.

Though Simon and Porsha are still in the throes of their divorce, the mom of one does "wish him well."
"You know, I pray for him and his family and maybe they can figure it out," she shared on WWHL about her estranged spouse.
