THE Philadelphia Eagles have announced that Saquon Barkley has signed a new two-year contract extension.
Barkley, 28, will reportedly become the highest paid running back in NFL history with his new terms worth an eye-watering $41.2MILLION.
The contract will make Barkley the first ever running back to earn over $20m per season.
It's understood that the deal includes $36m fully guaranteed, with an additional $15m in incentives and escalators available.
Barkley's record-breaking contract comes after a record-breaking season for the former New York Giants star.
The Super Bowl champ was named Offensive Player of the Year after rushing for an all-time league record of 2,504 yards.
While he could have broken the regular-season rushing record too if he hadn't been rested for Week 18.
Many have suggested that Barkley's campaign is the greatest single season by a running back in NFL history.
While Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman labelled it as: "the best season for any skill position player in NFL history."
And now he is tied down to the Eagles until 2028, signing his extension just one year into his initial contract from the last off season.
