Peter Laviolette under fire for healthy scratching newly acquired player ahead of Rangers-Toronto game

New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette is facing some major backlash once again after making another controversial decision moments before facing off against the Toronto Maple Leafs.Peter Laviolette

Following the New York Rangers practice this morning, it was revealed who will be a healthy scratch for tonight's game and fans are not happy with Laviolette's decision.
After the Rangers performance against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday, many were expecting to see some changes in the lineup tonight. However, the one Lavy made was not the one fans were hoping for as Calvin de Haan with be scratched once again.

Calvin de Haan was acquired by the New York Rangers in a trade that sent Ryan Lindgren to the Colorado Avalanche, de Haan was a solid defenseman for the Avalanche and even had some pretty good stats over the years. So the choice of continuously making him a health scratch over Carson Soucy has made some fans furious with Laviolette.
As the New York Rangers continue to face serious struggles all season, and after giving up 35 shots to the Calgary Flames on Tuesday, it's clear that more needs to change for the Rangers defensive end.
Calvin de Haan has had better success this season then Uhro Vaakanainen and Carson Soucy, and even stats from the past several years m prove that the 33-year old would be the better option for the Rangers defensive end, but ultimately Laviolette continues to sit him for unknown reasons.
In three games as a Ranger, de Haan may have just 1 point, but he carries an impressive +4 differential, and with the Rangers desperately fighting for a Wild Card spot in this years Stanley Cup Playoffs it would seem like this would be a clear decision.
