Peter Laviolette has just confirmed which defenseman the New York Rangers will be losing

Head coach Peter Laviolette and the New York Rangers have just figured which defenseman they will be losing.

The New York Rangers are getting ready to face off against the Buffalo Sabres on home ice at Madison Square Garden tonight at 7:00PM.

With that being said, Mollie Walker of the New York Post has confirmed that rookie defenseman Victor Mancini will be scratched for the second consecutive game, and Zac Jones to take his spot.

Despite Victor Mancini has been a very solid contributor to the Rangers lineup, which is way he remains with the team. However, Laviolette explains the benefits of keeping Mancini with the Rangers and to make sure his experience is not being wasted:

«I think that there's a balance there,» Laviolette said via Mollie Walker of The New York Post. «I do think it's OK for a young player to come out of the game once in a while and to watch and to go over video and watch from a different angle and then to work on things in practice. I think that's OK. I think you got to be careful that those stints don't get extended and stay too long.»

Peter Laviollette also mentioned why he decided to make this decision, as he isn't benching Mancini for anything he did just that Jones played well on Monday night against the New York Islanders:

«Somebody's got to sit... I thought Jonesy came in and gave us a real strong game last game so we're going to come back with him this game, but it could change game to game,» Laviolette said.
