Patricia Altschul revealed that her butler Michael Kelcourse had another stroke, telling fans to send him cards, and she expressed that he “means so much to so many.”
In 2021, Michael – a beloved Southern Charm castmate who worked for Patricia for over 18 years – retired after enduring a spinal cord stroke. Patricia has stayed in touch with him, and he appeared briefly in a FaceTime call last season.
“I am very sad to share that Michael has had another stroke,” wrote Patricia on Instagram in a post shared by @bravosnarkside. “I am told that while he cannot read messages on his phone or Instagram, he can receive cards.”
“His birthday is October 13th and it would be so nice if his fans would send him a card,” she went on. “We are sure he would love to receive your birthday and well wishes. I know he means so much to so many of you.”
According to Patricia, anyone wishing to send Michael a card can use the following address: “Angels Senior Living – c/o Michael Kelcourse – 5750 Honore Avenue – Room 104 – Sarasota, Florida 34233.”
Fans then shared their support in the comments.
“Very sad news, I am sending Michael my prayers for his recovery. 🙏🏽 Let’s all send him birthday cards,” wrote @bravosnarkside.
“I am very sorry to read this. Big prayers for Michael and all that know and love him,” said another.
“Sending healing ❤️🩹 we all miss seeing Michael with you miss Patricia,” wrote a third.
“Such a sweet and wonderful man. I pray for his healing and condolences right now to the friends and family. We love Michael,” said a fourth.
“He is such a gentle soul and a Bravo #1 gentleman,” expressed another. “May god be with him and heal him through this long journey and keep him safe.”
After his 2021 stroke, Patricia’s son Whitney told The Daily Dish, “I am sorry to inform you that Michael Kelcourse, affectionately known as ‘Michael The Butler’, recently suffered an acute spinal cord infarction which is often called a ‘spinal cord stroke.’ Although this tragedy has caused significant nerve damage and impairment, with the help of the outstanding physicians at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, we are hopeful Michael will soon recover.”
In season eight, Patricia addressed the situation: “I’m still shocked by the whole thing because [Michael] had been with us for 18 years … My longest marriage lasted 15 years, so Michael is the most stable relationship I’ve ever had.”
