Paris Hilton Buys Mark Wahlberg’s Former Beverly Hills Mansion for $63.1 Million—After Losing Malibu Beach House to California Wildfires

Paris Hilton has reportedly snapped up a Beverly Hills abode with an illustrious Hollywood history—splashing out a staggering $63.1 million to buy Mark Wahlberg's former estate.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the heiress-turned-businesswoman, 44, is the proud new owner of the astonishing property, which boasts 12 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms. The 6-acre spread is part of the gated community of Beverly Park.

Hilton, who shares son Phoenix and daughter London with her husband, Carter Reum, appears to have closed on the property on June 20. Records indicate that she was represented in the transaction by her brother, real estate agent Barron Hilton, and his wife, Tessa Hilton.

It marks a positive milestone for the mother of two after what has been a fraught few months—during which she and Reum, 44, lost their Malibu beach house in the California wildfires.

At the time, Hilton shared the devastating news on Instagram, revealing that she had been watching live news coverage when she saw the horrifying flames consume her own house.

"Heartbroken beyond words," Hilton wrote while sharing live ABC7 footage of the smoldering remains of her home. "Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience.

"This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London."

Hilton's three-bedroom home, which offered just under 3,000 square feet of living space, was located in a jaw-dropping spot on La Costa beach, on the side of the Pacific Coast Highway, which was obliterated by the fires as they spread from the Palisades through Santa Monica and Malibu.

She and Reum purchased the abode for $8.4 million in 2021, although they are understood to have been living in a different dwelling at the time of the fires, having relocated to a more spacious property in Beverly Hills after their son was born.

That property is reportedly owned by investor Leonid Smirnov, who last put the dwelling on the rental market for a staggering $160,000 a month. It's unclear if this is the price that Hilton paid.

It seems that Hilton and Reum fell in love with the neighborhood while staying there—given that their new abode is located directly adjacent to the rental, which should result in an incredibly easy move.

However, Hilton and Reum's newly purchased abode boasts more than double the space of their leased dwelling and almost twice the land.

The couple are understood to have purchased the dwelling through an LLC, with the identity of the seller also hidden behind a limited liability company.

However, there is no mistaking one of its most prominent former owners: "The Departed" star Wahlberg, 54, who commissioned famed architect Richard Landry to design the opulent abode for his family in 2014.

Wahlberg originally purchased the lush land on which the home now sits for the relatively low cost of $8.25 million in 2009, and resided there with his family until 2022, when he announced that he had relocated to Nevada.

Nevada is "a place where my kids can thrive and do their thing and pursue their interests," he told People, adding during an appearance on "The Talk": "To be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams, whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer—this made a lot more sense for us."

Although he conceded that he missed the weather in California, he said his kids were "thriving" in Nevada, where he purchased a property in the exclusive Summit Club community for $14.5 million in August 2022, four months after listing his Beverly Park property.

However, he opted to sell the Vegas dwelling one year later, explaining that it had been only a temporary abode for his family, for whom he was planning to build a custom mansion in their new home state. He neglected to share whether that dwelling would boast anywhere near as many opulent amenities as his Beverly Hills home.

To say the actor took full advantage of his 6-acre Beverly Park plot would be a gross understatement.

Not only does the property boast a sport court, skate park, five-hole golf course, and resort-style pool, but the main residence houses a home theater, fitness center, library, and wine and cigar cellar.

Wahlberg initially listed the mansion for $87.5 million—however, it took almost a year (and a very significant discount) to find a buyer, who ultimately picked up the palatial pad for $55 million.
