In an emotional interview, Summer House star Paige DeSorbo shared the real reason behind her breakup with boyfriend Craig Conover. Amid swirling rumors, Paige firmly denied any infidelity and revealed that her decision stemmed from her own struggles with mental health, which she described as “critical” and in need of immediate attention.
Since news of their split broke, Paige has faced a flurry of negative speculation. Many assumed she had been unfaithful or that their relationship had become “toxic” beyond repair. However, Paige set the record straight:
"I never cheated on Craig, and there was no third party involved in this breakup. I have always respected him, both during our relationship and after it ended."
Her statement quashed baseless rumors and provided clarity on the nature of their separation.
Paige went on to explain that the true reason for their breakup was her realization that she could no longer sustain a healthy relationship.
"I’ve tried, but I’ve come to understand that I cannot be a good partner in my current state. My mental health is severely impacted, and I need to prioritize my own healing before I can love someone the right way," she said.
Paige admitted that the pressures of work, her personal life, and maintaining a public image had left her emotionally drained.
"Every day felt like a new battle. I didn’t want to drag Craig into the struggles I knew he didn’t deserve to bear," she added.
Despite the breakup, Paige emphasized that her love for Craig was genuine and deep.
"I love Craig—that has never changed. But sometimes love alone isn’t enough to sustain a relationship when you can’t even love yourself first," she shared.
For Paige, the decision to part ways wasn’t an act of giving up but rather the only way for both of them to regain balance in their lives. She believes that acknowledging the need for time and space to heal is not a sign of weakness but rather an act of courage.
Paige also spoke warmly about Craig, describing him as "wonderful and kind." She said she felt lucky to have had the chance to love and grow alongside him.
"Craig is a kind and understanding man. He doesn’t deserve to face struggles that aren’t his to carry," she said.
She expressed her hope that Craig would find happiness with someone who could offer him the stability and peace he deserves.
Paige’s story transcends a typical breakup narrative by shedding light on the importance of mental health. She stressed that in today’s increasingly complex world, taking a step back to care for oneself is not selfish.
"If you don’t take care of yourself, you can’t take care of anyone else. I hope my story encourages others to recognize the importance of prioritizing their mental health," Paige said.
Despite their breakup, Paige expressed hope that she and Craig could remain on good terms as friends.
"I don’t regret anything about our relationship. It taught me invaluable lessons, and I’ll always cherish the time we shared," she said.
Paige concluded with a heartfelt reminder:
"Breaking up isn’t failure. Sometimes, it’s the only way to find yourself and prepare for a brighter future."
