Paige DeSorbo Shuts Down Criticism of Her Sheer Wedding Guest Look: "First and Foremost..."-quang

The Summer House cast member explained why her buzzed-about lacy gown was fit for the "glitz and glamour" of her friend's wedding.

Paige DeSorbo doesn't care what anyone thinks about her fashion sense.

Just ICYMI, the Summer House cast member recently attended an incredible wedding in Saint-Tropez, the glamorous coastal town in the French Riveria. For the occasion, Paige and her beau, Craig Conover, wore some seriously swanky threads, including a lacy black dress for Paige that featured a corset bodice, sheer black lace detail, and a high-leg slit for a smoldering touch.

Social media users were critical of the wedding guest look choice, with people writing in the comments section of Paige's Instagram photo series that the dress wasn't "appropriate" for a wedding.

Paige, however, had different thoughts.

“I could defend it all day long,” the fashion maven clapped back on the July 23 episode of the LadyGang podcast. “First and foremost, I was in Saint-Tropez. I wasn’t at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. So it was a very different type of wedding.”

Paige also added that the lavish black-tie event wasn't a "typical wedding," hence why she opted for the sheer, black lacy look.

“It was not a typical wedding,” she explained. “And the couple that got married — my girlfriend Alexa and her now-husband Wilton — [are] easily one of the most stylish couples I have ever been around. They just look good. They look like a model couple.”

“I was maybe one of 15 girls that were in sheer dresses — also because that’s like trendy,” she added, noting that her friend who got married is a stylist and is "all about the glitz and glamour."

Paige added that she would have "never worn" the smoldering style to an American wedding. She also procured approval from her friends before the event.

“So I sent it to all of my girlfriends who were also going to the wedding and we were sending all of our dresses in a group chat and not a single person batted an eye,” she said. “One of the other girls was in a completely sheer [dress] that had like green sparkles on it so I was like, ‘Oh we are so good.'”

The Giggly Squad podcaster clarified that the bride "loved" her look and everyone in the wedding party brought out their fashion A-game for the southern France affair.

“But I loved that dress,” she concluded. “I stick by it and again it just proved to me that not a lot of people have been to a wedding in the South of France and for that, I apologize to them. I'm upset for you."
