Paige DeSorbo Shares Behind-the-Scenes Details of Summer House, How She Handles Breakups, & Advice for Single People, Plus Why She Makes Mom Watch Episodes First, and Dealing With Public OpinionsPaige DeSorbo is sharing how she handles breakups and dealing out some advice for single people.

Months after the end of her three-year relationship with Southern Charm cast member Craig Conover, 36, the 32-year-old Summer House star admitted that she gets “immediately out there” after splits as she encouraged others to do the same, explained why her mom watches new episodes first, and shared what she wishes fans saw of the Bravo reality show.

“I am not a big breakup person. I’m not a big, like, you gotta lay in bed for a couple of days and listen to sad music. I’m immediately out there,” Paige revealed during an April 1 interview with InStyle. “I was immediately like, ‘Are we going out?’ And we’ve been out there. I just had a girls’ trip to Miami.”

According to Paige, who was spotted with Joe D’Amelio in Miami after her breakup from Craig was confirmed, she thinks newly single people should “go out.”

“Get outside,” she stated.

Then, when asked if there was anything that went down behind the scenes of Summer House that would surprise fans, Paige said she didn’t think viewers realized how many people were with the cast at their Hamptons home.

“There’s a whole basement that we’re never allowed in, which is where all the monitors, the cameras, and the producers are,” she shared. “Some of our camera operators and sound people have been with us since the first season.”

Because the production team has largely remained intact, Paige and her co-stars have formed relationships with them.

“We’ve watched them get married and have kids, and they’ve brought their kids to the house. There are so many more friendships on Summer House than people would ever even realize,” Paige noted. “The people who filmed Kyle and Amanda’s engagement were specifically picked to film it because they had met them in season one. We really know them so well. And that’s why they get us to say whatever they want.”

“I wish they broke the fourth wall so much more,” she added.

Watching herself back on episodes of Summer House can be understandably daunting for Paige. So, rather than dive into new episodes upon their release, she allows her mom to watch them first.

“You know when you hear your own voice on a voicemail and you’re like, how does anyone speak to me? It’s that times ten,” Paige explained. “It’s like drunk Instagram stories that you don’t have the option to delete. So I send the episode to my mom, and I make her watch it first, and I say, ‘Let me know if there’s anything I should be aware of.’ I love myself, but not that much.”

Also during the interview, after admitting that hearing people’s opinions can be “definitely hard at times,” Paige said she’s learned to cope over her many years on the series.

“I think from starting Summer House at 25 and now being 32, I deal with it in a very different way,” she reasoned. “I used to read everything. I used to read every comment. I used to read every DM, and I used to let it overtake my personality. The human brain is not made to hear people talking about it. So now, at 32 I think I’ve gotten a lot better with it, and I’m honestly too busy to even read things. I’m thankful for that.”

“But also, as you get older, you get more confident, you’re just like, ‘I don’t know you. That’s a crazy thing to say,'” she added.

Summer House season nine airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
