Because she’s in her seventh season on Summer House, Paige DeSorbo knows a thing or two about the show. Paige was Season 3’s shiny, new girl, who caught Carl Radke’s eye just as Season 9’s Lexi Wood so quickly mesmerized Jesse Solomon.
After so many years in the House, Paige knows a lot about what goes on behind the scenes. When an interviewer asked the influencer if there was anything that would surprise fans, she said, “I wish they broke the fourth wall so much more.”
“People don’t realize … how many people are at the house,” she added. “There’s a whole basement that we’re never allowed in … [That’s] where all the monitors, the cameras, and the producers are.”

“Some of our camera operators and sound people have been with us since the first season,” Paige told InStyle. “We’ve watched their lives also progress. We’ve watched them get married and have kids, and they’ve brought their kids to the house.”
As a result, the cast has grown close to many of the production team. When you think about it, they’re actually just “co-workers at the office” – except in a fancy house in the Hamptons.
“There are so many more friendships on Summer House than people would ever even realize,” she continued. “The people who filmed Kyle [Cooke] and Amanda [Batula’s] engagement were specifically picked … because they had met them in Season 1 … We really know them so well.”
Though Paige and her housemates are careful about breaking “the fourth wall,” it happens now and then. In the Season 9 premiere, Carl was overheard telling a producer he was nervous to see his ex, Lindsay Hubbard. The former couple famously broke off their engagement in the Season 8 finale, just weeks before their wedding. Also in Season 8, Carl told Kyle and Amanda he was nervous about his then-fiancée watching back the conversation with his mom and stepdad. Though he’d been brutally honest while discussing the relationship with his parents, he hadn’t shared the entire chat with Lindsay.
In another instance, Carl had a heated discussion with Danielle Olivera’s now ex-boyfriend Robert Sieber. Before relating his controversial plan to propose to Lindsay, Carl insisted on “no f*cking cameras.”
Summer House airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
