Paige DeSorbo is getting candid about her split from Craig Conover in the Summer House After Show.
Sitting down with co-stars Amanda Batula and Ciara Miller, DeSorbo spilled some tea about her three-year-long relationship with the Southern Charm star, who had asked her to make him a priority amid her growing work schedule in a recent episode of Summer House.
“I think obviously when you’re in it you can’t see the way you see it when you’re out of it or the way your friends see it,” DeSorbo said.
“I think I loved him so much that I tolerated too much. And now that I’m out of it and I look back on things, I’m like, oh, wait, anytime that I had a career milestone, he found a way to make it about him,” she continued. “Or anytime there was something and it was for me — it was my friend’s wedding or a family wedding — he would find a way to make it about him and make me have a bad time. It was just embarrassing.”
Looking back, DeSorbo said she was “blinded” and “had to do a lot of damage control” in their relationship. When she started her Giggly Squad podcast tour with Hannah Berner last fall and she suffered a panic attack, DeSorbo said Conover thought it was because she “worked too much” which “played into” his argument that she should slow down and spend more time with him. She claimed he never considered the fact that the panic attack could be “his fault.”
“After I had my panic attack, he had watched a documentary about the band Abba. He told me to watch this documentary because it’s about how tour ruined their marriages and their lives,” DeSorbo said. “I was like, ‘I just got a beta blocker transcription but thank you so much for the nightly TV watch.’”

According to DeSorbo, they “probably” didn’t have great communication since Conover would take her straightforwardness as her being “harsh.”
“I would kind of have to stay more quiet when he would voice his opinions because he would always take it as a personal attack,” she said. “Him voicing his opinion that he wants to be prioritized above my career, he knows that even if I marry you, my kids are gonna come before you anyway. So you’ll always be third. Whoever I marry will always be third.”
While DeSorbo always felt like she could say what she wanted to Conover, there were times when she would withhold information to avoid hurting his feelings.
“There were times when things would happen in my career. Would I tell him? No. Absolutely not,” she admitted. “When I would get certain milestones, I wouldn’t tell him because I knew he would want to be happy for me but I knew deep down he would not be. So no, I wouldn’t say certain things.”
“I feel like when I meet my husband I’ll want to call him before I call my dad,” she added. “And I haven’t met anyone like that yet.”
