Vanderpump Rules is being recast for its upcoming season, news which the current (er, former) cast found out just one day before it went public. But apparently at least one person had already quit the show wellllll ahead of Bravo's recasting decision.
Katie Maloney confirmed that she made the decision to leave VPR months ago, telling her Disrespectfully podcast co-host Dayna Kathan, “You know—as many people close to me—I didn’t plan on returning. Maybe it doesn’t matter at this point, but I had made a decision months ago after this past season. I mean, I just needed to move on with my life. And this is before we knew the show was gonna be put on pause, before any of that.”
Katie made her decision after the last reunion, and said "I had talked to our producers about it, and I told them my decision on that.”
As a result, she's more than ready to move on, saying she "lived many lives" and "went through so much on that show, but I don’t know, I just got to a point where I was like, ‘I don’t know if I can live and grow and be the version of myself I want to be on this show any longer.'"
As for whomst the new cast are, Bravo hasn't made any formal announcements. Though, apparently they're going to be a “new group of close-knit SUR-vers” so raise your glasses high and get ready for chaos.
