“They don’t care who they burn — as long as the cash keeps rolling in.”
What was once hyped as the most iconic reunion in British music history has now descended into a bitter backstage war, as the long-awaited Oasis comeback tour is rocked by furious accusations, logistical meltdowns, and a growing sense of betrayal among the crew.
Katie Hind can exclusively reveal that tensions have reached boiling point behind the scenes, with multiple insiders accusing Noel and Liam Gallagher of putting profit above people — and “treating long-time crew like disposable extras.”
One senior road manager, who worked with the band during their heyday and was re-hired for the reunion, didn't hold back: “This isn’t about the music anymore. It’s a cash grab. And the way they’re running this tour proves it. Old mates are being pushed out, staff are underpaid, and no one’s getting a straight answer from either brother.”
The first sign of trouble came when several long-serving tour crew members were abruptly let go just weeks before rehearsals began — replaced, insiders say, by cheaper hires with “zero history” with the band. “They just got an email. No thank you. No explanation. It was brutal,” said one insider. “These are the same people who stuck with them through cancelled gigs, brawls, and the implosion of the band in 2009. Now they’re being tossed aside like garbage.”
According to sources close to the production, the move was orchestrated after a secret meeting between managers and financial advisors who allegedly warned that the current budget was “unsustainable if the brothers wanted full control and private jets.”
“It’s all about the Gallagher brand now,” another crew member added. “Not the legacy. Not the fans. Just the brand — and how many VIP tickets they can sell.”
What’s more, the toxic atmosphere has reportedly spread into the rehearsal spaces themselves. Multiple musicians involved in the live lineup have expressed frustration over a “complete lack of communication” between Liam and Noel, with rehearsals often being cancelled or rescheduled last minute. “They refuse to be in the same room unless there are cameras,” one source said. “Even then, it’s like they’re playing characters in a PR stunt.”
And while fans are forking out thousands for premium experiences, insiders say the band has made “zero effort” to ensure the quality of the show matches the hype. “It’s smoke and mirrors,” one technician revealed. “Behind the scenes, everything is held together with duct tape — literally and metaphorically. No one’s listening to the sound engineers. They’re too busy fighting about who gets the final say on the setlist.”
The only thing the Gallaghers appear to agree on? The money. Both have reportedly signed individual deals with separate sponsors and merchandise lines, leading to a fractured ecosystem in which one tour – absurdly – is being marketed in two completely different styles. “Noel wants polished nostalgia. Liam wants chaos and beer. The crew are stuck in the middle,” an insider said.
As one exasperated longtime team member put it: “This isn’t Oasis. This is a high-stakes pantomime in Adidas and leather. And the people who kept this band alive are being treated like they never existed.”
With murmurs of walkouts and crew strikes already circling, and fans beginning to question the integrity of the reunion, the tour is hanging by a thread — one that's dangerously close to snapping under the weight of ego, greed, and the ghost of what once was.
