Gizelle Bryant is reacting to her Real Housewives of Potomac costar Karen Huger’s DUI sentencing.
The self-proclaimed “Grand Dame” was sentenced to two years in prison with one year suspended on Wednesday, Feb. 26, for her drunk driving case. After learning the news, Bryant shared her thoughts on the ruling.
“I am shook,” she said during her Gizelle 21 Shady Questions Live at City Winery event later that day, per Us Weekly. “This just happened today. I do not have her wigs. I am concerned. In all seriousness, I am concerned for her safety. Karen ain’t cut out for jail.”
“I pray that she’s OK and that the Lord is with her,” she added.

In March 2024, Huger was arrested for a DUI after a single-vehicle crash three miles from her house in Maryland. Body cam footage released from the scene showed Huger visibly intoxicated, slurring her words and stumbling while speaking to police before being arrested.
At one point, she name-dropped her boss Andy Cohen and admitted to having “a couple beers.”
Huger was officially charged with a DUI and DWI, negligently driving a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner endangering property, life, and person, as well as recklessly driving a vehicle in wanton and willful disregard for the safety of persons and property.
Her other charges included failure to control vehicle speed on the highway to avoid a collision, driving a vehicle in excess of reasonable and prudent speed on the highway, driving a vehicle on the highway with suspended registration and failure to notify administration of change of address within 30 days.
“Although we are disappointed in the jury’s verdict, we of course respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case," Huger's then-attorney, A. Scott Bolden, told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement at the time. "We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger’s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf. We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time."

In December, a jury found Huger guilty on all charges except reckless driving, and on Feb. 26, she received a two-year sentence with one year suspended, along with five years probation. She has 30 days to appeal the judge's decision and 90 days to ask the judge to reconsider his order.
When she was being taken into custody, Huger told her husband, "You will be alright" and that "God's got you," a source on the scene told PEOPLE.
Last month, Huger entered a private recovery program in Florida to “get to the bottom” of “taking antidepressants and drinking.” While there, she missed the taping of the RHOP season 9 reunion and replaced her legal team.
In a clip that opened the first part of the reunion, which aired on Sunday, Feb. 16, Huger stated: "No, I’m not an alcoholic. Let’s be clear."
“I know a lot of young children look up to me — [they] call me Auntie Karen, the Grand Dame," she said, telling her fans to "do as I say, not as I do.”
“This is very frightening but I accept full responsibility for everything that went on with my car accident," she continued, noting that she was prioritizing her family during this time. "I don’t care about me right now. I care about my children, I care about my family. They are so hurt.”
