Only two teams remain in the NFL playoffs as Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs get set to battle Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. And Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby thinks he knows who will win.
The Chiefs were able to get to their third-consecutive Super Bowl after defeating Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game. They took out the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round as well.
The Eagles, on the other hand, had a longer journey to the big game. After securing wins over the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Rams, Philly was able to stop Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commander's Cinderella run in the NFC championship.
Ahead of the Super Bowl, Crosby premiered a new episode of his podcast, "The Rush With Maxx Crosby." After discussing both conference championships, the two-time All-Pro pass rusher revealed that he is sticking with the Eagles to win the Super Bowl.
"I'm staying with my prediction," Crosby said. "I got Philly."
Crosby has had Philadelphia winning the Super Bowl for the majority of the playoffs. In an episode of his podcast episode prior to the conference championships, Crosby made sure people knew he was picking the Eagles to win it all.
"Obviously, Saquon is generational, nothing getting taken away," Crosby commented. "He’s arguably the MVP, but that O-Line has been incredible. They’re super well-coached up front on both sides, and you can see it. So, I’m sticking with my prediction. I think the Eagles are going to win the whole thing.”
Crosby finished the season with 28 solo tackles and 7.5 sacks in only 12 games. Las Vegas finished the season 4-13 and were eliminated from the postseason early. Now, he will be moving forward with his fifth NFL head coach as the Raiders hired Pete Carroll to replace Antonio Pierce.
The Chiefs and Eagles will battle it out in Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9.
