NFL Announces Major Saquon Barkley News Before NFC Title Game - suong

Over the weekend Saquon Barkley delivered another MVP-caliber performance when he racked up 205 yards on the ground against the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional round.

"The atmosphere was crazy. It was insane," Barkley said. "I've got a smile on my face thinking about it. This is what you dream about. This is why I came to Philly. I wanted to be part of games like this, and I'm just happy to be a part of it."

His 205 yards on the ground were the fifth-most in postseason history and saw him join Eric Dickerson as the only players to have a 200-yard rushing game in the regular season and one in the playoffs in their career.

Barkley admitted  he looked up the team's record for most rushing yards in a postseason game as he chases greatness.

"I felt like I had a good game last week," he said, "but you want to create a legacy, and I wanted to have one of those types of games. Just visualizing stuff and wondering what the number is. It's funny how that happened."

Barkley's performance this season led him to elite status among the NFL's greatest. On Thursday morning he was announced as one of five finalists for the league's Most Valuable Player award.

Barkley is competing with Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Barkley and the Eagles will be back in action this Sunday in the NFC title game against the Washington Commanders.
