New York Rangers to trade top-six forward: Elliotte Friedman just confirmed it to the media

According to latest reports from NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman there is some uncertainty growing around Mika Zibanejad and the New York Rangers.Mika Zibanejad

President and General Manager Chris Drury has wasted no time this offseason and prior with making changes to the teams roster after failing to make the playoffs this season after just winning the President's Trophy and going all the way to the ECF the season prior.
During has already traded a large majority of the Rangers most notable players this past season, including Jacob Trouba and Chris Kreider being dealt to the Anaheim Ducks, Ryan Lindgren being traded to the Colorado Avalanche, Filip Chytil to the Canucks and most recently K'Andre Miller traded to the Carolina Hurricanes.
However, one player who also struggled during last season was Mika Zibanejad, a player who has had his name involved in several trade rumours but has still managed to remain as a member of the New York Rangers.

Per a new report from NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman, the Rangers and GM Chris Drury are trying to work things out with Zibanejad before exploring a trade:
It's very clear the Rangers are working with Mika Zibanejad; they're trying to figure out a way to make it work; you never know if it'll continue, but the bottom line is, this season is not starting the way the last two did [trade noise] - 32 Thoughts Podcast

Mika Zibanejad is now the longest-tenured member of the New York Rangers after Chris Kreider was traded to the Ducks after he arrived in a trade with the Ottawa Senators for Derick Brassard and has been with the team ever since.
Mika Zibanejad's five-year $8.5M AAV contract makes it hard for Chris Drury to move him but it wouldn't hurt for him to search and see what he could for Zibanejad either. But for now it appears as though both sides are working to keep the relationship going.
