According to recent reports, New York islanders pending UFA and veteran forward Kyle Palmieri will hit the open market on July 1st, if the Islanders decide not to re-sign him by then and with former GM Lou Lamoriello no longer with the Metropolitan Division team, it leaves Palmieri's future uncertain.

Why Kyle Palmieri would be a good fit for the New York Rangers

By now it's no secret that New York Rangers General Manger Chris Drury will need to do some much needed work this offseason as he looks to complete the organizations retool that he started last season when he traded away several players.
Leaving the organization needing to add some depth on their right-wing, and adding Palmieri alongside Vincent Trocheck and Artemi Panarin would certainly upgrade their top lines, as Palmieri has been described as just an aggressive guy who is always crashing the net. Something the New York Rangers had an issue with last season.
Just last season Kyle Palmieri managed to tally 24 goals and 24 assist throughout 82 games played with the New York Islanders, someone the New York Rangers desperately need on their roster.
