New York Rangers Projected To Land $65 Million Superstar This Offseason: Per NHL Insider

The New York Rangers quickly made a splash during the offseason, signing Head Coach Mike Sullivan, with a look to the future. In hopes of bolstering the lineup, the Rangers will have to look to free agency in order to secure a player who could help deliver the hardware, and that could be Mitch Marner.Mitch Marner

The New York Rangers will have to look into the free agent market in July in order to find their guy, and with a loaded pool, they may have to open their pocketbooks for someone like Marner.
Adam Herman of the Bleacher Report feels the Rangers will be the perfect landing spot for Mitch Marner.
"It's New York. They love flashy moves and big changes are coming. Chris Kreider's departure is all but inevitable. Artemi Panarin is in the final year of his contract. Could the team and player decide to part ways this summer? The Rangers also signed Alexis Lafreniére to a seven-year contract last Fall, but his play this season did not live up to expectations."

Should Marner choose to leave the Maple Leafs, or Brad Treliving simply refuse to offer him a new contract, he could be picked up by the right team.
"The Rangers need a fresh start, and so does Marner. New York isn't the path of least resistance, but GM Chris Drury can make room for him if he identifies Marner as worth the effort."

Marner would add some great depth to the forward ranks as a consistent 80+ point forward and former Selke Trophy candidate.
This season in 81 games with the Maple Leafs, he tallied 102 points (27 goals, 75 assists). He could be the firepower the Rangers use to push deep past the ECF in 2025-2026 should they find the switch to flip to win-now mode again.
Marner will have a lot of suitors, and we're going to predict Utah and Calgary are just two who will throw money his way to interest him outright.
Can GM Chris Drury lure him to Broadway?
