The New York Rangers have announced a signing, as Gavin Hain will be joining the team's minor-league club in Hartford.
New York Rangers Assistant General Manager and Hartford Wolf Pack General Manager Ryan Martin announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Gavin Hain on a one-year contract for the 2025-26 season.
Last season, the depth forward split 50 games played between the Iowa Wild in the AHL, scoring 5 points (3-2) in 25 games, while playing 25 games with the ECHL's Iowa Heartlanders, scoring 27 points (10-17).
Hain was originally a Philadelphia Flyers draft pick, 174th overall in the 6th round of the 2018 NHL Draft.
Since then, his feet have never touched NHL ice, unfortunately, as he's been a journeyman playing in both the ECHL and AHL (Heartlanders and Wild).
Hain played in two Kelly Cup playoff games with the Heartlanders this season, adding 4 points (1-3).
The Wolfpack and Hain have agreed to a one-year AHL deal, as his contract hasn't been registered with the NHL, and isn't available on PuckPedia.
Hain played 47 games with the Iowa Wild in 2023-24, scoring 10 points (4-6) in 47 games with the Wild.
The Grand Rapids, Michigan-born forward has played a total of 32 games in the ECHL, all with the Heartlanders, scoring 29 points (12-17).
He will join the Wolfpack with hopes of being promoted to the NHL one day, as the dream marches on.
