New York Rangers issue a special message regarding Matt Rempe following recent extension

Matt RempeThe New York Rangers and GM Chris Drury have re-signed forward Matt Rempe to a two-year deal, keeping him in Madison Square Garden that much longer. Today, the team issued a statement for the forward's birthday.

The New York Rangers signed Matt Rempe to a two-year, $1.9 million deal recently. Rempe has cashed in on his hard work on the team's fourth line this season, proving himself to GM Chris Drury.
Now the Rangers forward gets to celebrate again this postseason, as the team has given him the spotlight on "X" to celebrate his birthday.
Rempe's birthday is today, June 29th, and he is 23 years old!

The goon-turned depth forward has proven himself capable of holding himself accountable and growing as a person and a player in the NHL.
The perfect kind of feel-good story we've seen associated with Rempe, who currently lives with New York Rangers goalie Jonathan Quick.
It's been a great year for Rempe, and he is capping it off with a nice celebration, no doubt with his raise kicking in.
Rempe's new deal pays him an AAV of $975K and is a key player in the Rangers' future on the fourth line.
Likewise, his partner on the fourth line, Adam Edstrom, also received a new deal with the Rangers, confirming the team's plans on keeping the "Towers" united for good.
We hope soon enough, Adam Edstrom will be rejoining the team in October, happy and healthy, so we can see the "Rempire Towers" dominate the ice once again soon.
No word on what kind of celebration he'll have, but we're certain family, friends, and mentor Jonathan Quick will be there to help.
Happy Birthday, Remps!
