Daily faceoff Frank Seravalli reported that Kreider has no interest in leaving the Rangers as he holds a key start record that he would like to break with the team.

Rangers would like to move off Kreider's contract this summer

«Kreider is just 11 goals away from second all-time for the Original Six franchise and he isn't interested in leaving,» NHL insider Frank Seravalli wrote. «He has a 15-team 'no-trade' that could complicate things for Chris Drury. But if we've learned anything with Drury (see: Jacob Trouba), when he is motivated to make change, he'll find a way to see it through.» - Frank Seravalli

It's been widely known that general manager Chris Drury has wanted to move off of this contract for some time as the team went through turmoil throughout the season when Kreider's name was mentioned in a league memo along with former captain Jacob Trouba of the availability of both players.
Kreider's numbers had taken a huge loss compared to the season before where he played only 68 games this year, scoring 22 goals with eight assists for 30 points was a - 5.
Last season, he played all 82 games, scoring 39 goals or 36 assists for 75 points and was a + 19.

Kreider has no desire to leave Rangers

During his exit interviews and locker clean out, he made it clear that he wanted to remain with the Rangers as he feels very close to this organization.
«This is home for me," Kreider said. «This is the organization that gave me an opportunity to live out my dream. I've developed so many incredible relationships and grown up and spent so much time in this area. So, obviously, this is where I want to be and this is the group that I want to help in whatever fashion win hockey games.» - Chris Kreider

He holds two years remaining on his deal with the capitals 6.5 million per season which also could hamper Rangers efforts in trading him as some teams may feel he has declined in his production.
It remains to be seen on how the Rangers will move forward but one thing is clear, moving Kreider may not be as easy as some may think.
