Matt Rempe engaged in a tilt against Kings bruiser Tanner Jeannot. While the tilt itself was exciting, the after effects aren't so much, as we lost another piece in the Rempire Towers, as Brett Berard will slot back into the lineup.
It was reported today by Newsday's Colin Stephenson that forward Matt Rempe was considered week-to-week, just a night after his tilt with Kings enforcer Tanner Jeannot.
We have lost another piece of the infamous Rempire Towers, now that both Edstrom and Rempe are injured.
With a vacuum in the lineup as a result of Rempe's injury, the team will have to fill the RW4 spot.
Thankfully, they won't have to look far, as they have called him up to the NHL, as forward Brett Berard could find another chance in the lineup.
While the idea to send Berard was mentioned by The Hockey Writers, own Remy Mastey, it appears, thanks to unforeseen circumstances, he will get another look soon enough.
However, it's unacceptable to have this talented 22-year-old watching games from the press box when he could be getting valuable experience with the Wolf Pack.
If he can take the opportunity upon himself to prove he's more than just a bottom-six forward, or at least a reliable contributor maybe there's a chance GM Chris Drury of the Rangers can make room for him in the NHL.
Considering the Rangers are in a retool, all options should be considered at this moment.
Berard has provided a solid depth goal-scoring option for the Rangers, and if he can't crack the lineup full-time this season, we should expect to see him in 2025-2026 after Rempe returns to the lineup.
