New York Rangers forward reveals heated exchange in the locker room between periods that sparked comeback win

Jonny BrodzinskiThe New York Rangers losing streak ended at three games. The team had a little bit of motivation from depth forward Jonny Brodzinski who motivated the locker room with a motivational speech.

The New York Rangers defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-3 yesterday. 10 Rangers players would tally a point or more against JT Miller's former club in a victory that saw a surprising contributor take the reigns.
Depth forward Jonny Brodzinski would contribute two goals including the game-winning goal at 4:13 in OT.
Before the team would rally in the third though, Brodzinski would find a new way to help the team win, with his motivational speaking.
Not like Tony Robbins.
It'd involve yelling and a clear definition of goals literally needed by the team to earn two points.
«We need points right now and we're still in this run. After those first two periods, a little bit of yelling in the locker room. I think we figured it out as a team, gotta stop turning pucks over and shooting ourselves in the foot,» Rangers forward Jonny Brodzinski said postgame. «After that, pucks just started to find their way into the net.»

Instead of folding in the third like the Rangers have succumbed to this season they'd hold out until overtime to secure the win.
They would generate offense in six shots and find a goal thanks to the Canucks empty net before the end of the third.
«We were doing just too many things to hurt ourselves. We're not finishing checks, we're not getting pucks deep and when we were, we had one guy going hard and we had two guys kind of sitting back in our lock. Just playing way more direct, more simple and good things happen,» Brodzinski explained.

Brodzinski's motivational speaking skills turned things around for the Rangers including for Shesterkin.
He'd end the game with 36 saves on 39 shots, with a .923 save percentage to end the night.
That win put the Rangers within 1-point of the Montreal Canadiens and the second wild-card spot in the East.
