New York Rangers defenseman facing serious backlash from fans after questionable performance

New York Rangers defenseman Carson Soucy has been facing some major backlash from fans ever since he was acquired from the Vancouver Canucks to fill Ryan Lindgren's spot.Carson Soucy

Soucy's tenure in New York has quite lived up to the fans expectations of many New York Rangers fans. However, there's many things that fans have overlooked since his arrival.

Since being acquired, Soucy has been on the ice for six goals against at 5-on-5. That's one more than Urho Vaakanainen, but the second-best of the struggling New York Rangers.
With Soucy spending quite of time being a healthy scratch, his goals against per 60 (GA/60) since being acquired is the third best in the Rangers roster, sitting in front of Adam Fox.
Even his offensive goals for percentage (GF%) is fourth amongst the team, so to say he's the real issue just doesn't make sense.
xGoals% - 59.3% (2nd, Miller-Fox is 1st)
xGoals per 60 - 3.4 (3rd, Trouba-Schneider is 1st)
xGoals against per 60 - 2.34 (3rd, Miller-Fox is 1st)

When Soucy was acquired for a third-round pick from the Vancouver Canucks, fans believed he would be a beneficial replacement for Lindgren. Obviously, that hasn't been the case.
Based on what the Rangers paid to acquire Soucy, we can't expect to see a Norris-Trophy winning defenseman.
