New York Rangers defenseman Calvin de Haan threatens to expose the organization after be mistreated

On March 1st, 2025, GM Chris Drury acquired journeyman defenseman Calvin de Haan in a deal that sent Ryan Lindgren and Jimmy Vesey to the Colorado Avalanche. During practice, he was taken aside by Mollie Walker, and asked about his time in New York, and his answer was troubling.Calvin de Haan and Jonathan Quick

Calvin de Haan is an NHL defenseman who has played 679 games for multiple teams across the league. But he's never had a scathing review of a team like we heard him give the Rangers today.
In another scandal would could blow up in July, we saw de Haan express frustration with his continued removal from the Rangers' lineup. He'd also talk poorly of the organization and how the team has treated him.
It sounds like another instance of GM Chris Drury's toxicity persisting throughout the organization itself.

After being a healthy scratch for 18 games, you'd be frustrated, too.
De Haan wasn't trying to hold back on how he really felt about the Rangers organization until the PR arm of the team took him aside.
Either way, this is a terrible look for the New York Rangers, who are a historic original-six organization. Typically, a team like this should be held to higher standards of conduct and how they treat their players.
And apparently, de Haan felt with the end of the season upon them, he felt free enough to share how poorly he'd been treated until the team stepped in.
It's a shame we have to wait until July to get an idea of what has happened here, but it'll be difficult to sell free agents on the idea of New York when Calvin de Haan is blurting out how poorly he's been received in New York.
De Haan has played only 3 games for the Rangers, and scored one point for them this season.
His NHL career has seen him play for the Chicago Blackhawks, Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers, New York Islanders, Carolina Hurricanes, and Colorado Avalanche.
De Haan has scored 149 points (24 goals, 125 assists) in 679 NHL games.
