The New York Rangers announce another unexpected roster transaction Wednesday night, after they officially traded forward Kaapo Kakko.New York Rangers GM Chris Drury

The New York Rangers joined forces with the Seattle Kraken and managed to work out a trade for Kaapo Kakko, and in return the Rangers got defenseman William Borgen and few draft picks.

However, that wasn't the only move the Rangers made Wednesday night as they announced on X that they have recalled Matt Rempe to the lineup along with reassigning rookie defenseman Victor Mancini to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL.

UPDATE: Matt Rempe has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack and Victor Mancini has been assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Last season, Matt Rempe quickly became a fan favourite as he made his presence known which ultimately earned the 22-year old a spot with the Rangers in training camp.

So far this season, Rempe has been limited to just four games where he has gone pointless. As for his time with the Wolf Pack this season, Rempe has managed to tally 3 goals and 2 assists in 18 games played, along with 22 penalty minutes.

As for rookie defenseman, Victor Mancini has played 15 games with the Rangers this season, managing to put up 1 goal and 4 assists while averaging 15:05 per night. Along with playing six games for the Wolf Pack where he recording 5 points.

However, the Rangers would rather the 22-year old Victor Mancini to play with the Wolf Pack as he can get more minutes of ice time and focus on improving his game, considering they just landed a full time NHLer William Borgen.
