NeNe Leakes gave fans a glimpse into her life during her storied run on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. During that time, she introduced her sons to the world, one of whom was Brentt Leakes. Sadly, Brentt went public a couple of years ago with some pretty severe health issues. Now, he’s providing an update and detailing his healing journey on social media after undergoing a heart transplant.
Fans of NeNe, 56, will recall that in 2022, the reality TV star took to her Instagram to share some heartbreaking news. Brentt, 25, was suffering from congestive heart failure. He was 23 at the time of the news. It seemed like he was getting better after that.
The RHOA alum recently took to his Instagram to provide an update. He began his post by saying, “To begin with, let me say, ‘Thank you, God.’ This year was undoubtedly the craziest for me. After several trips to the hospital and many doctors appointments, I finally heard the unexpected news that I was diagnosed with “congestive Heart Failure” On June 19 (Ish), 😞”
After making the post, Brentt also took to his Instagram Stories to show that he is now doing well.
Brentt continues, “This experience has FOREVER changed my life. I am so thankful to the family that donated the heart! A huge thank you to MY MOM, Marshella, Nyoni, Big Janae, Nikiyah, my friends, doctors, nurses, and everyone else who was pushing, pulling and praying me thru this❤️ Never give up. 🤞🏾”
A series of videos also accompany the post. They include him walking with the assistance of a walker and various medical professionals. The post also shows him in relatively good spirits, and he seems beyond thankful to the doctors and nurses who helped with his healing journey.
There were several comments offering kind words to Brentt. Notably, NeNe had this to say, “To God Be The Glory! It has been A LOT! I am so proud of how strong you’ve been thru this process son ❤️🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾”
After making the post, Brentt also took to his Instagram Stories to show that he is now doing well.
