Since Aidan Hutchinson went down with a season-ending injury against the Cowboys in October, the Lions have been subject to trade talks for a pass rusher.
Replacing Hutchinson, who had 7.5 sacks through Detroit's first five games, is no easy task, as there are only so many star defensive linemen in the NFL.
However, one of those few superstar defensive ends came up as a Lions trade target on ESPN's "Get Up" on Friday morning: Cleveland's Myles Garrett. Even if there's any intrigue for either Cleveland or Detroit in a deal involving Garrett, it certainly won't be happening in the trade proposed by former Jets and Dolphins executive Mike Tannenbaum.
Here's the trade idea Tannenbaum came up with and was criticized for on ESPN's show.

Myles Garrett to Lions trade proposal on 'Get Up'
As the show was doing a "Who Says No?" segment where the crew pitched and discussed NFL trade ideas, Tannenbaum's proposal was a trade that would send Garrett to Detroit.
There certainly seems to be a fit between the two sides, as the Browns are just 2-6 so far this season while the Lions are 6-1 and could use a defensive addition to replace Hutchinson. However, it's Tannenbaum's proposed return for Garrett, which would be a massive haul, that drew criticism.
Jahmyr Gibbs, the Lions' first-round pick in 2023, has 591 rushing yards and seven total touchdowns this season and has become an irreplaceable weapon for head coach Dan Campbell.
In the pitch from Tannenbaum, who was the Jets' general manager from 2006-2012 and the Dolphins' executive VP of football operations from 2015-2018, the Lions would be giving up a huge collection of draft capital on top of Gibbs.
It was a trade no NFL general manager would consider, even for a star like Garrett.
