Morgan Wade's "East Coast" Lyrics Decoded: Read Her Heartbreaking Reveals About Love

Morgan Wade recently released a song, "East Coast," that BFF, Kyle Richards, has "on repeat." Read the "East Coast" lyrics here.

Morgan Wade is in her feelings on her new song, "East Coast," which she dropped earlier this month. In fact, Morgan Wade's "East Coast" lyrics are a heartbreaking meditation on love and the end of relationships.

The track is a country-tinged ballad that sees Morgan reflecting on the end of a love affair. In a recent interview with Inked, she explained her creative process when it comes up with penning tracks. “Whether it’s good or bad, that’s when I tend to write the most and find my most creative times,” she told the publication. “Other times, random stuff just pops in my head.”

She also previously told Wonderland that she began writing songs at a young age: "I’ve been writing songs for as long as I can remember. I started playing the violin at the age of seven, and eventually stopped and moved on to the guitar. I started playing music live when I was 19, and I’ve been doing it ever since."

As for any speculation about her song's lyrical content, Morgan previously told Rolling Stone, "I could write a song about a piece of paper, and they would find a way to make it into something salacious. But I'm not going to hide my art because of people's gossip. I'm over that."

Clearly, she knows what she's doing. Below, find the lyrics to Morgan Wade's "East Coast."

Morgan Wade sitting on a leather couch

If I'm so entitled
Then I'll take my own life
Decidin' 'tween the Bible and the bottle
At least every other night

If I'm so selfish
I'll break my own heart
This pain is relentless
It'll follow me into the dark

But I'm gonna drive to the coast
Drown myself in the sea
Hope you know I loved you the most
Yeah, but you took the life outta me
You took the life outta me

If I could be anybody else
I'd be a stranger to you
I wouldn't hatе myself
Or be somebody that you oncе knew

But I'm gonna drive to the coast
Drown myself in the sea
Hope you know I loved you the most
Yeah, but you took the life outta me
Yeah, but you took the life outta me

But I'm gonna drive to the coast
Drown myself in the sea
Hope you know I loved you the most
Yeah, but you took the life outta me
So I'm gonna drive to the coast
Drown myself in the sea
Hope you know I loved you the most
Yeah, but you took the life outta me

Yeah, you took the life outta me
Yeah, you took the life outta me

Morgan Wade's "East Coast" music video

Morgan teamed up with director Talia Stewart for the music video for the track. She opened up about filming the music video in a recent Instagram: "I loved working with [Talia] to create the official video for 'East Coast' — on the West Coast. She is a badass and I’m so happy this song and imagery is finally out in the world today. Thanks so much to everyone for listening, streaming, and sharing."

For what it's worth, Kyle doesn't make a cameo in this new music video.
