Mika Zibanejad's wife stuns fans while addressing rumors regarding a trade from the New York Rangers

The New York Rangers' own Mika Zibanajead and wife Irma are puzzled by the latest speculation surrounding her husband. With trade talks swirling, and a recent visit to Sweden by new Head Coach Mike Sullivan, they're wondering how real the rumors are.

While speculation continues to swirl around Mika Zibanejad and the New York Rangers, his wife Irma remains perplexed.
However, Irma would respond to the ongoing speculation in kind, calling out reporters and fans who perpetuate the falsehoods everywhere with one post.

Irma wasn't happy with the reporting on her husband's status with the Rangers, as she gets to see behind the scenes, and knows more than us.
«We just had Mika's new coach [Mike Sullivan] here at our home, he flew over from New York recently,» she said, according to a translated quote from Swedish website Aftonbladet. «We also just got our new home in New York. I'm always shocked about how newspapers just spread things without considering the source.»

The couple who just purchased a new home in New York before the start of the 2025-2026 NHL season would be heartbroken if GM Chris Drury were to trade him, of course.
All of this comes as speculation after Drury is reshaping the roster after trading Zibanejad's BFF, Chris Kreider, a Ranger for 13 years.
According to the post's Larry Brooks, Zibanejad and Drury have been in constant communication during the postseason. Giving further credence to the Zibanejad family's post is his NMC and his untradeable $8.5 million cap hit.
We'll see in July if a trade comes to fruition or we were all victims of speculation.
