Micah Parsons Sends Message to Cowboys on 'Aggressive' Roster Moves

FRISCO — Micah Parsons has never hidden behind his messaging, especially when it comes to his Dallas Cowboys. Amid a tumultuous season where he missed time with injury, he posited his intentions to keep the fight going with a stubborn belief in turning things around.

His efforts ultimately fell short with the Cowboys losing their final two games, but the disastrous season ended on a better note than it otherwise would have.

An easing up schedule helped Dallas in that sense, but the tumult of the 2024 season paved the way for Parsons to emerge as a voice for this team moving forward. It seems now he is beginning to understand the power of that voice.

Thursday, Parsons spoke out on the Cowboys' upcoming offseason with a perfectly clear message on how he thinks the team should attack the next few months.

"I don't wanna sit back and just watch other people build and build and build and I [we] stay the same, so we definitely need some call to action," he told Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com.

"I want to see us be aggressive, and I wanna see us get players that's gonna help us — that's gonna come in and make an impact."

For evidence, he pointed directly at the Cowboys' arch rival Philadelphia Eagles, coming off a dominant victory in Super Bowl LIX. Micah Parsons Turning Heads After Dallas Cowboys Contract Hint to Green Bay Packers' Jordan Love - Athlon Sports

"There's been a new wave in the NFL....You look at Philly and how they went and got Saquon [Barkley] and how they went and Zack [Baun]. Everyone doesn't need a max deal. There are great quality players that can do one-year or two-year deals, obviously we've seen that this year. There's been a trend."

Parsons is due a contract extension this offseason, making clear he is willing to sacrifice a portion of his expected sum if that means acquiring another superstar talent like one Myles Garrett.

A trade for Garrett, another star or simply any splash move would mark a sharp turn from how the Cowboys have approached the offseason in recent years. That strategy, however, has left them with a product that has staled over time.

The core of Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Parsons himself remains as good as most in the league. But they need some help.

That reality has been apparent for a year at minimum. The Cowboys fans have seen it and it is no complicated puzzle for the NFL audience at large to solve either.

Parsons echoing those feelings will draw plenty of attention, but it matters not unless these grievances are met with action proving a commitment to winning.
