Micah Parsons Issues Strong Saquon Barkley Message During NFC Championship Game

The Philadelphia Eagles are on their way to booking their spot in Super Bowl LIX, as they hold a 48-23 lead over the Washington Commanders in the fourth quarter of the NFC Championship Game. Saquon Barkley has been phenomenal once again, and his strong play led to a strong take from Dallas Cowboys superstar Micah Parsons.

Barkley has racked up 118 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries, while also hauling in a pass for four yards too. Most of Barkley's damage came on a 60-yard touchdown on the Eagles' first offensive play of the game, but he managed to find paydirt two more times along the way.

This isn't the first time Barkley has put up big numbers for Philly in the postseason, and it looks like he will get one more shot to star for his new team in the Super Bowl. With another explosive stat line in the books, Parsons declared Barkley the best player in the NFL right now.

"Dawg saquon is (the) best player in the NFL!" Parsons said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Parsons is frequently in the discussion for the top player in the league, so for him to be making this claim regarding Barkley is a big deal. And considering the numbers Barkley has been putting up all season long for the Eagles, it's tough to disagree with his strong take.

After running for 2,006 yards in the regular season, Barkley has racked up at least 120 total yards in each of Philly's first three playoff games. With the Super Bowl on deck, Barkley hasn't shown any signs of slowing down either, and he will be looking to close his season out with a bang.

There are certainly other players who belong in the discussion, including Parsons himself. But with the 2024 campaign coming down the homestretch, it's tough to find another guy who is playing better football than Barkley right now.
