The Las Vegas Raiders have been one of the worst teams in the NFL over the last several seasons, but defensive end Maxx Crosby has been a major bright spot. After being selected in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Crosby has turned into an All-Pro player and a leader for the franchise both on and off the field.
Crosby signed a record-breaking three-year, $106.5 million extension this offseason, which locks him in with the Raiders through the 2029 season. After missing several games last year due to a multitude of leg injuries, he should be back in full force for Las Vegas in 2025
Since moving to Las Vegas, Crosby has diversified his portfolio and cast a wider net with his impact outside of football. He started the Maxx Crosby Foundation, as well as his own podcast, and even became involved in the front office for Eastern Michigan football, which is his alma mater.
On Monday, Crosby made another personal announcement, revealing that he is opening a state-of-the-art sports facility near his hometown in Lapeer, Michigan.
This move indicates not only that the Raiders have compensated Crosby quite handsomely for his production on the gridiron but that he is the exact kind of person who should be the face of the NFL. Crosby is a testament to the notion that the greatest players are also the greatest people, and that hard work and dedication have a way of impacting others.
