McFly star Danny Jones and Love Island's Maura Higgins have barely been out of the news since video footage of their post-BRIT Awards "kiss" emerged on social media.
The pair, who starred together on the ITV show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! last year, attended an afterparty together where they were seen appearing to drunkenly lean in to make the embrace. Maura, 34, recently split from The Only Way is Essex personality Pete Wicks, while 38-year old musician Danny has been married to wife Georgia since 2014. The pair share one child.
With both Danny and Maura yet to comment publicly, speculation surrounding the clip has continued to grow social media. One eagle-eyed X user has pointed out that those speculating could in fact be making a mountain out of a molehill, however.
Taking to the platform she shared snaps from the Instagram accounts of Danny, Maura and Georgia. The images appear to show that all three still followed each other on the platform as of Monday (March 3), prompting hope the alleged incident hasn't caused an issue for their relationships.
"Screenshots of their Insta followers while they’re still there," the X user – also named Georgia – wrote. "Danny Jones and Georgia still following Maura and Maura still following Georgia and Danny. Do they not know the video is out yet?"
Another X user responded with their thoughts, adding that there's a possibility there is no problem whatsoever. "You forgot a possibility: all three of them are fine with the situation," they said.
Elsewhere, others urged privacy on the matter, one of whom added: "I think people need to just calm down about the whole Danny/Maura/Georgia thing and give everyone some space to sort things out in private. Yes we all want them to release a statement but remember they don’t owe us anything. It’s their business not ours."
Another X user penned: "Only Danny , Georgia and Maura will know the truth. [...] Yes, there’s a video but it could plainly be innocent too. If I was his wife I would of hated to see that but she may of been there that night and think nothing of it."
And a third person fumed: "I hate that the person videoing Danny Jones and Maura Higgins first thought was let's sell this clip. I hope Georgia Horsley (his wife) already knew. Otherwise this is savage."
Footage shared by The Sun appears to show Danny and Maura getting close inside the venue, with Maura appearing to give him a couple of kisses on the cheek before he seemingly leaned down to kiss her on the mouth. A source claimed they "seemed to be having a great time" together, and described the kiss as a "brief, drunken moment."
After the video was taken the duo then left with fellow I’m a Celebrity star Oti Mabuse and moved on to another event. The pair are said to have been seen laughing at Sony Music's afterparty at Nobu Hotel an hour later. A source told the outlet that they were "still grinning" and "joking about" while there.
