Both the New York Rangers and Montreal Canadiens' enforcers will not play in tonight’s game. Matt Rempe and Arber Xhekaj are set to serve as healthy scratches for their respective teams.
For all fans hoping for a big Rempe and Xhekaj heavyweight fight will unfortunately be disappointed.
Rempe has been a healthy scratch for three out of New York’s first five games as he’s yet to really make his presence felt.
Peter Laviolette inserted Rempe back into the lineup for the Rangers’ Saturday night matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs, but so far the 22-year-old has not recorded a single point.
Meanwhile, Xhekaj has struggled to start the year for the Candiens. He’s a minus four when on the ice while he’s also pointless through five games.
Xhekaj was scratched for the first time on Saturday night when the Candiens faced off against the New York Islanders.
