Mary Cosby’s Son Robert Jr. Checks Into Rehab After Positive Drug Test-quang

Mary Cosby returning to Real Housewives of Salt Lake City as a full-time cast member is truly a gift. Mary might be controversial, but there’s no doubt that she makes for hilarious TV. We literally never know what she’s going to say next, both in her confessionals and to the faces of her co-stars.

We’re getting to see a little more of Mary’s personal life in RHOSLC Season 5. She’s been open about her dynamic with her live-at-home son Robert Cosby Jr. Mary might be an enabler – she admits that she gives her son money regularly, while he lives an unemployed, sheltered life at home. It’s brutally honest. However, it also seems like Robert’s recent legal problems might come to light as the season continues.

Robert Jr.’s personal struggles

According to documents obtained by the U.S. Sun, Robert Jr. is currently in an inpatient treatment facility in California. His attorney informed the judge overseeing his DUI case that he couldn’t appear for an August 15 hearing because he was seeking treatment. It’s unclear when he checked in or what specific treatment he was seeking. However, documents indicate he entered the facility sometime after July 19.

According to earlier court records from July, Robert seems to have been struggling with issues relating to drug abuse. Records indicate he did complete certain aspects of his court order, like a 10-day detox treatment and home confinement. However, a report was filed that he was “non-compliant” with other aspects relating to alcohol testing and substance abuse treatment.

Back in May, court records state that Robert Jr. “tested positive for cocaine, Fentanyl and THC,” when he was initially ordered to enter an inpatient treatment facility. The initial DUI charge stems from an incident back in March 2022. During that arrest, Robert Jr. did not have a driver’s license and was caught throwing cans of beer into a dumpster. He denied drinking alcohol, but he admitted he recently had “taken some oxycontin, Xanax, and smoked marijuana,” according to court records. He failed field sobriety tests and was charged for driving under the influence.

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City continues on Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
