Dave and Veronica were paired together during the parter swap section of MAFS Australia 2025. On screen, the new pair seemed to get on really well, with Veronica noting she felt a better connection with Dave in those three days, than the entire time she’d been with actual parter Eliot. Ouch.
They were seen giggling with each other, and sharing a bed. They also went on a little date together. But this has spiralled now. Following partner swap, there have been rumours swirling around that Veronica and Dave got a little *more* close than what the MAFS test was for. Yep, people started saying they slept together.
Dave and Veronica were pictured on a “date” whilst the show was still airing, and according to reports, after partner swap week Dave was “questioning everything”.
“Everyone already knew Dave wasn’t really into Jamie,” a source told Daily Mail Australia. “They were mismatched from the start. He was never fully invested.
“With Jamie, it always felt forced. But with Veronica, it was effortless. Zero pressure, no awkwardness – just easy conversation and natural chemistry. The moment he felt that difference, he couldn’t unsee it.”
Dave of course denied all the rumours. “I’m not going to sleep with someone jumping in my bed for one or two nights, it’s not how it works, especially when I’m married to someone else,” he told Chattr. “It’s a bit ridiculous that people would think that, but yeah, it definitely goes against my morals.” He confirmed he was “totally committed” to Jamie whilst in the experiment.

Veronica also spoke out about the rumours. She told Yahoo: “I find it so hilarious that this whole thing is circulating in this way. I’ve actually been abstinent for almost two years. I think everyone is just looking for someone to blame, to be honest, and I’m an easy target given how everything’s been unfolding for me recently.”
She added: “Also, you have to remember, I’d just been back from Melbourne, I did the retreat, did the dinner party, did the commitment ceremony, and I was exhausted. So to hang out with someone else was quite refreshing. That’s all it was.”
