MARCEL Somerville has revealed how his wife reacted to him going on Love Island All Stars, sharing a huge update on his cheating row.

Reality star Marcel, 39, who appeared on series three of the ITV2 dating show in 2017, is gearing up to give the process another go this month.

In February, it was revealed that he'd walked out on his estranged wife Rebecca Vieira, 29, after she was accused of cheating on him with a US pop star.

Days later, Rebecca admitted to "cheating" on the Blazin Squad star and issued a grovelling apology.

The former couple share a child together, who was born in 2021.

While speaking with The Sun ahead of his upcoming return, the singer told how his other half had been left "in shock" upon finding out

When asked what she said about his signing up, Marcel replied: "So, um, obviously when I obviously had to tell Rebecca - because I wasn't going to be be around for a few weeks, who knows how many weeks I'll be in there - she was a bit shocked at first.

"She was a bit like like, 'I can't believe this. I can't believe this is happening,' but I think she got to a point where she was understanding of the situation that our relationship had broken down, like, we're going through a divorce.

"I think for her it was definitely a shock because she probably wasn't expecting it to happen, but at the same time it's like she's accepting of the situation because she'smade a mistake.

"I can't put my life on hold when opportunities like this do come my way after a while."

And, on whether he's had romances since splitting from Rebecca, he said: "This is literally going to be the first time I'm going back into the dating pool so it's going to be like a blast."

Rebecca appeared to take a swipe at her ex ahead of his All Stars return as she stripped off to a bikini.

After announcing his participation, Rebecca shared a stunning bikini snap with her 636,000 followers.

Wearing a patterned brown bikini top and matching hat, the brunette beauty gazed down to the floor in ripped demin shorts.

Rebecca showed off her incredible physique in the image, after Marcel’s Love Island return came to light.

Rebecca also shared a quote on Monday over a field of flowers, which read: “What makes you beautiful is that you stayed soft in a life that tried to harden you.”

Her post came as some fans insisted he should "get a divorce" before going on the show.

One unhappy viewer wrote: "Marcel coming on this show is just diabolical. Grow up and file for divorce Sir."

A second posted: "Right because like I'm sorry but I do NOT want married people going on this show, even if they are going through a divorce. Finish the divorce."

"He shouldn’t even be ALLOWED to be there. Producers are just as much at fault for casting a f****** married man," a third fumed.

This person commented: "This is even worse! So he’s just plain immoral for that. He has a wife and he’s doing Love Island."

Another added: "This is actually diabolical behaviour. His wife and son will be watching it from home. I can’t."

In November, we revealed that Marcel was one of the names in the running for the line-up.

He was later confirmed, and appeared in a stunning Love Island All Stars cast promo, with Maya Jama centre stage.

The now revealed line-up includes Curtis Pritchard, Luca Bish, Olivia Hawkins, Scott Thomas, Elma Pazar, Ronnie Vint, India Reynolds, Gabby Allen, Nas Majeed, Kaz Crossley, and Catherine Agbaje.

All of which posed with Maya in a very glam snap ahead of the launch.

The new spin-off series will kick off on 13 January, with contestants already in South Africa and are awaiting their villa entrance.
