Just last month the New York Rangers confirmed that their superstar goaltender Igor Shesterkin has been placed on Injured Reserved due to suffering an upper-body injury.
Still to this point it remains unclear how Igor Shesterkin sustained this injury, but it was likely from when the Rangers faced off against the Florida Panthers, as there was several cases of players crashing into the net and taking him out.
If anyone had to guess it was most likely this play, where Lindgren sent Bennett flying into Shesterkin:
At the moment the severity of Igor Shesterkin's injury remains unclear, along with how long he will be sidelined for.
However, on Tuesday morning the Rangers received some good news as Igor Shesterkin returned to practice and was on the ice participating with the team.
This doesn't mean Shesterkin will be returning to the lineup but it definitely is a positive step in the right direction for him to make his return to the Rangers lineup. Along with that Louis Domingue is still with the team.
