MAFS Australia star Lauren Dunn was ‘strangled and smothered unconscious with a pillow by jealous ex-boyfriend Ryan Crowley’ – court hears horrifying details of alleged late-night assault that left her bleeding and begging for help - suong

MAFS Australia’s Lauren Dunn was allegedly attacked and smothered with a pillow by her ex boyfriend.

Former footballer Ryan Crowley has appeared at Perth Magistrates Court after being charged with assaulting her

The court heard how Crowley supposedly attacked the reality star after becoming jealous over messages between her and another man.

Lauren was said to have been strangled by Crowley, then smothered with a pillow until she passed out.

7News reported that the pair got into a verbal altercation on Tuesday at around 8pm local time after Lauren invited him to her apartment in Claremont.

After the argument, it was said Lauren asked Crowley to leave before calling 000, Australia’s emergency services number.

She was then alleged to have told the operator it was a mistake, and put the phone down.

This is when Crowley supposedly snatched Lauren’s phone and looked through her laptop for evidence that she was cheating on him.

It was said that when he came across messages from another man, he assaulted her. Crowley allegedly threw Lauren to the floor, causing her head to hit the ground.

He then supposedly strangled her whilst she was on the floor, and grabbed her by the neck as he covered her mouth and nose.

Lauren is said to have gone in an out of consciousness during the alleged attack before Crowley let her go.

The court further heard how the MAFS alum called out for help as Crowley allegedly assaulted her again, violently shaking her and slamming her head on the floor a number of times.

The prosecution said the next thing Lauren remembered was Crowley lying on the sofa, asking her to cuddle him. It was then alleged that she asked him to leave but that he said no and stayed the night in her bed. She said she wanted to call the police, but that the former AFL player had her phone and laptop.

The next day, Crowley was said to have stopped Lauren from leaving the home, grabbing her shirt and scratching her stomach, which caused her to bleed and left her with swelling.

The court also heard how when Lauren supposedly tried to stop Crowley going through her laptop, he was said to have grabbed her by the neck before smothering her with a pillow. She then allegedly lost consciousness.

After this, and despite begging for help, Lauren managed to get to a cafe to seek assistance.

The former Essendon Bombers midfielder was later arrested at Perth Train Station and charged with nine domestic violence-related charges.

Crowley has denied all the allegations.

He has been granted bail, and as part of his bail conditions must remain in Western Australia. He is also forbidden from contacting Lauren.
