The moment left their wedding guests and viewers at home shocked after their unexpected twist.

Paul and Carina met on a dating app and had a brief romance which fizzled out when Paul shockingly GHOSTED the TV beauty.

It left them stunned when they were eventually revealed to be marrying one another on the experiment.

Just two episodes later, the EXACT SAME thing occurred once again in a rather unfortunate turn of events.

As Jeff and Rhi found themselves matched by the experts, it only took seconds for the couple, and their guests, to realise their previous connection.

As Rhi began to walk down the aisle, she stopped in her tracks as she clapped eyes on 39-year-old Jeff.

As some of the guests questioned what was going on, Jeff turned to look at Rhi as he said: "Hey, Rhi!"

She replied back sheepishly: "Hey Jeff."

It soon transpired that the pair had dated for a month the previous year and had kept in contact as pals after their romance fizzled out.

Jeff said to the cameras: "She just came out of a long-term relationship, and I just came out of a relationship.

"We both sort of decided we were better off being single."

Having cooled off their intimacy, they confirmed they had met-up for coffee afterwards and even ran a half-marathon together.

It led to a moment at the aisle where Rhi even recognised her hubby's pals.

They confessed it did end amicably and so there was no bad blood between them.

However, it led many fans to speculate about how much of a coincidence it was that a second pairing on the show had already knew each other as well as the fact they were exes.

Writing online, one viewer said: "Is the Australian dating pool THAT small?! 2 couples already knew each other."

Another added: "Omggg another couple that knows each other, experts what is going on???"

A third penned: "What are the chances they know each other AGAIN!"

A fourth took aim at production as they wrote: They f***ing know each other???? Da f***.

"Production, you suck how they set these situations up."

Speaking a bit more on their past connection before the wedding ceremony, Jeff told 9Entertainment:  "My initial reaction was pure shock.

"It was the last person I expected to see on my wedding day. We dated for about four or five weeks... the timing wasn't quite right."
