MARRIED At First Sight star Arthur Poremba has said he had a very awkward run in with his ex wife Laura Vaughan’s new boyfriend.
Laura, 35, was in search of her perfect “Chelsea boy” when she took part in the E4 show but things didn't work out when she was matched with Arthur Poremba, 38.
This week, The Sun was the first to reveal that the former reality TV bride had moved on with a new romance, after keeping it under wraps for a year.
A source told us yesterday: “Laura is in a serious relationship with someone who makes her very happy.
“They’ve kept their relationship a secret for close to a year now, after meeting through the industry.”
Arthur has now shared his surprise at the new relationship, saying he thought Laura would’ve told him first.
He also explained how he’d actually met his ex-wife’s new man at a football game last year, and caused him to walk away after “flirting” with Laura.
Arthur told us: “It’s really weird because I actually met the guy at a football game last summer - it was Sutton FC for Paul Brunson’s team, so a few of us turned up to support him.
“She was with this guy and I kind of knew something was going on between them then, and they were obviously playing it clever as they weren’t romantic or anything with each other, but I just knew something was going on.
“I didn’t know why he was there at first, I thought perhaps he was a footballer or something.”
Arthur admitted things got awkward as he “flirted” with Laura.
The reality star continued: “I kind of started to flirt with Laura a bit in front of him and he walked off and said something like ‘I’m just going to leave you two to it.’
“That's when I thought I might have caused an issue! I’m happy for her though, it’s weird reading it, because obviously I thought she’d tell me rather than me finding out about it through the press but that’s life I guess.”
Laura has spoken about her new love, which actually started a while ago.
"I'm happy to say that I've been in a relationship now for some time that I initially wanted to keep out of the spotlight," she told MailOnline.
"I found sharing my love life on MAFS quite overwhelming at times so I've tried to keep this quite low key."
She continued: "I wasn't expecting to find love so soon after MAFS, I found dating really difficult after the show came out but I met my partner really organically through the industry and wouldn't have met him if I hadn't done MAFS so I ultimately have the show to thank for it!"
Making a dig at her ex, Laura said: "Things were never destined to work between Arthur and I , this relationship is much more suited."
Laura has introduced her new man to her friends, and she's even got MAFS coach Paul Brunson's approval.
She revealed: "Having said that, we are starting to be slightly more public now, he's meeting some of my friends from love island at a birthday party next week so we are now just fitting into each others lives like any other couple would.
"We are very happy and we actually attended a Sutton FC game together, which is Paul Brunson's football club so Paul has already met him.
"Paul's opinion is always important to me because he's been a constant relationship coach for me since I left the show.”
Sharing a beaming snap with her new flame she added: '"Honestly, he's the best thing to happen to me, supportive, kind, intelligent and easy on the eye. I feel very lucky!"
