Madison LeCroy's Heart-Wrenching Confession: Husband Brett Uncovers Kidney Tumor After Thyroid Cancer, 'I Would Die If I Lose Him' - lulu

The bad news kept coming for Madison LeCroy and her husband Brett Randle.

After revealing earlier in the season that 38-year-old Brett had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer in late 2023, Madison, 34, told her mom on the Jan. 9 episode of Southern Charm that the doctor found a tumor on Brett’s kidney.

“Brett told me some news,” Madison said to her mom Tara over FaceTime. “So he did some blood work and it didn’t come back normal. And they … they found a tumor on his kidney. We don’t know, we don’t know what it is, but still.”

Madison told her mother that she didn’t cry when she heard the news but she didn’t know how to support her husband.

“If I lose him, I would die,” Madison said. “I just kind of … I don’t know. I don’t know what to do.”

Tara tried to give her daughter advice. “All you can do is comfort him and love him and just keep telling him that you’re right here by his side,” she said to Madison. “I wished I’d done more for your dad, but your dad was too far gone.”

Madison shared on Dec. 31, 2023, that her dad Ted had died. “He’s the greatest gift, your memory will drive me forward every day,” she captioned an Instagram compilation of videos and photos featuring her father. “My forever superhero 🤍.”

On the Jan. 9 episode of Southern Charm, Madison called the last 12 months the “worst year of my life, for sure."

“My dad was diagnosed with cancer too, but he didn’t last,” she continued. “This is life, I guess. I just f---ing hate it. Like, I f---ing hate it.”

Tara continued to offer Madison reassurance. “Whatever it is, they’re going to get it, clean it up and life goes on,” she said.

Before Madison hung up, she joked of her lemonade, “I might switch this out to something a little stronger.”

On the Jan. 2 episode, Madison asked Brett during a golf outing with her son Hudson if it still hurt when he swallowed.

“It doesn’t necessarily hurt, I just have to think about it to swallow,” Brett said. “They have to adjust the medication. I’ll try that for a couple months and then get tested and see if that’s where I should be. And they did a scan of a spot on my kidney so … they had to biopsy that and see what it is.”

Madison questioned if Brett’s doctors think the spot could be cancerous, but he said they didn’t know.

“If I hear the word 'cancer' one more time, I’m going to lose my mind,” Madison said in an on-camera interview. “I just kind of thought we were in the clear.”

Brett tried to assure his wife that it wouldn’t be cancer again. “They said that, you know, good chance it could be nothing,” he said. “But my last few blood tests were off, so that’s why they were concerned about it.”

Brett also clarified that he didn’t want to tell Madison at first because he didn’t want to worry her.

“I need you to be able to tell me this,” Madison said to Brett.

Brett said that growing up as one of eight children gave him the idea that he should keep things to himself. “You know I don’t talk about things,” he told Madison.

“Well, I love you,” she said. “Just make sure you tell me from now on. No more secrets.”

Brett assured he didn’t intend to keep it a secret and pinky promised to be more upfront going forward.

“Is this our first sign that we need to go to a therapist?” Madison joked before asking Brett if he had “a sister wife or something that I need to know about.”
