LOVE Island’s Omar has broken his silence on his split from Catherine to reveal why they broke up, after she took a swipe at him.
The couple met on the ITV2 dating show and managed to reach the final of the contest but more than a month on they have officially called it quits.
The Sun were the first to reveal they had called time on their romance but Catherine has now responded to the reports on social media for the first time to admit they are no longer an item.
TV beauty Catherine took to her Snapchat to address a comment from a follower who was speculating about the status of her relationship with villa hunk Omar.
The fan in question asked: "Are you and Omar still dating? You don't want to answer if you don't want to?"
However, Catherine seemed more than happy to oblige as she replied with a very simple: "No xx."
She quickly followed it up with a cryptic TikTok video which seemed to hint not all was well in her split with Omar.
But after fan speculation online, Omar has now shared his side.
Posting a selfie to Snapchat, a fan asked him: “Have you and Catherine ended things?xx”
Omar replied: “We both gave it a shot & decided we’re better off as friends.
“We’re still cool with each other so please everyone dont overthink.
“So my answer to you is… yes.”
Omar’s response comes after Catherine posted a cryptic TikTok.
In a video of her lip-syncing the words "what the hell", Catherine added the caption: "When you finally put everything together."
She then also added: "Cause wth is really going through my mind?"
24-year-old Catherine and Omar, 26, are understood to not have been romantically involved for some time.
The former couple are still following each other on Instagram, but fans noticed they hadn't been posting together.
Omar had even stopped 'liking' Catherine's most recent snaps.
