Love Island’s Montel’s football team reveals real reason he’s doing All Stars as he arrives as bombshell - suong
MONTEL McKenzie's arrival in the Love Island villa has raised eyebrows as the semi-pro footballer's team battles for an important promotion.
But his club, Billericay Town FC, has now shed light on why he's left them narrowly at the top of the Isthmian League Premier Division to take part in the ITV2 show.
In a statement on Instagram, they said: "The Club can now confirm Montel McKenzie will be appearing on 'Love Island All Stars' for the next couple of weeks.
"He is currently out for four to six weeks due to injury so has decided to return to the television arena. Best of luck, Montel."
The right back is an integral part of the Essex club's squad.
They're currently two points above rivals Dover Athletic, but the second place side have a game in hand.
Some followers branded the injury update "convenient", while others simply responded with laughing emojis.
If Billericay win the league they'll be promoted to the National League South - the sixth tier of the English game.
Injured or not, Montel gets stuck into the action tonight, kissing six girls in a saucy villa game.
Catherine excitedly greets him, telling him: “It’s nice to have someone from my season! Hey Montel!”
Later Catherine and Kaz discuss Montel, with Catherine saying: “You know when someone comes in and they’re a bit of you…”
And Kaz says: “He’s so fit, he’s all of me and I get to kiss him [in the game]!”
