Footballer Harrison Solomon, 22, decided to leave the show after Lauren was savagely dumped from the villa the night before.
The Derby lad had been flip-flopping between Toni Laites and Lauren for days - leaving both of them in tears along the way.
Lauren was booted out of the villa after new bombshell Angel picked Ty to couple up with.
The brunette begged Harrison to come with her but he insisted he wanted to sleep on it and decide the next day.
Lauren broke down in tears but said she would wait for him on the outside and insisted: "I only want you."
On last night's episode, Harrison decided to leave and to continue his relationship with Lauren on the outside.
And back on the outside, the pair had plenty to say in their exit interview.
Harrison and Lauren's thoughts on leaving the Villa
When asked about he felt about leaving the villa Harrison said: "It was an emotional one last night, I’m happy with my decision and stand by it.
"It was sad saying goodbye to everyone. It's all I’ve known for 4 and a half weeks! It was the best summer of my life, I had some amazing times in there.
"I did obviously regret a few things I did but I loved the experience, I can’t fault it.
"When Lauren left the Villa, my Love Island experience just wasn’t the same."
Lauren revealed that she was shocked about her savage dumping: "I’m in shock. I didn’t expect to leave the way I did.
"Harrison and I had decided to get back together and try and work through the last few days we shared which were bumpy.
"I’ve left at a rubbish time because we were going to rekindle things and have a future together. I’m gutted but I’m hoping everything works out."
She added: "Harrison and I didn’t get the chance to rekindle and I would have liked to have seen where it went.
"If there had been a recoupling, we’d have got back together and I think we’d have been together until the end.
"Being in a love triangle is not ideal. Seeing someone you really like with someone else isn’t nice."
Sex in the Villa
Harrison was asked how he felt about his parents watching or knowing that he had sex in the villa.
He revealed: "I hope they didn’t see! But listen, it was a natural thing.
"I don’t think I intended to have sex in the Villa but in there all the Islanders could tell we were so attracted to each other, naturally it was going to happen.
"The spark between us was crazy! I probably wasn’t thinking about my parents and them watching it but it naturally happened and I don’t regret it.
The Future
When asked what is next for the pair, Harrison explained: "We’ll make the distance work! It will be no issue.
"We left on good terms but the two days prior to leaving we weren’t talking properly so it would be good to have a conversation, get everything out in the open and hopefully move forward from there.
"I feel very strongly about the girl, I wouldn’t have left if I didn’t. I have no doubt in my mind that she’ll be my girlfriend one day.
"I’m buzzing to see her and reunite! She’s such a great girl."
Lauren of course would 100% like to pursue things with Harrison.
She explained: "I’d love to see where it could go. I’m hoping that he comes out so that we can be together.
"I see myself being with him long term as I haven’t had a connection like that with someone in such a long time.
"I know what we had was real despite what everyone else thinks.
"He has done wrong and made stupid mistakes, but he knows that and believes it was the wrong thing to do."
However, Harrison has arrived home in the UK after quitting the villa – but Lauren is nowhere to be seen.
