Love Island stars left shell-shocked as Harriett and Ronnie axed hours before final - suong

Two huge Love Island stars have been axed just hours before the grand final.

Fans have tuned in for over a month as reality icons like Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Casey O'Gorman returned to the show for a second and third time in the search for love. With the 2025 finale of the Love Island spin-off due to take place on Monday night, viewers were treated to a bombshell dumping that aired just 24 hours before fans would find out who the winner of the season would be.

The public had been voting for their favourites to win, with those receiving the fewest votes being at risk of being dumped - as the past dumped Islanders returned and were given the power to ditch one of the bottom three.

Elma Pazar and Sammy Root, Harriett Blackmore and Ronnie Vint and Catherine Agbaje and Omar Nyame faced getting the axe at the last hurdle. Ronnie who has been happily coupled up with Harriett was not happy about the twist, and said: “If they come tomorrow and throw shade at us, I’m going in because we don’t deserve votes.”

Luca Bish was shown reassuring Catherine Agbaje and Omar Nyame, saying: “There’s no reason for you two to ever be there.” Catherine added: “What’s hard is that they’re two strong couples… hopefully the dumped Islanders can see what Omar and I have.” Sammy Root then chimed in to say: “I got what I came here for anyway.”

The next day, former contestants India Reynolds, Olivia Hawkins, Marcel Somerville, Kaz Crossley, Montel McKenzie, Nas Majeed, Ron Hall, Danielle Sellers, Samie Elishi, Tina Stinnes and Chuggs Wallis returned to cast their votes on heart shaped boards. Olivia said: “I feel like there’s one particular couple I probably would have swapped from things I’ve seen on the outside…” - sending a vote to Harriett and Ronnie explaining: “I do think that if things don’t work out first time, going back to it is always a risk.”

Harriett said: “The girl literally photoshopped her head onto mine and sent it to Ronnie and he still didn’t want you on the outside or in the Villa…” Olivia responds “I didn’t want to go on a date with Ronnie.”

Olivia also made a bombshell statement about another Islander that leaves the group stunned. Marcel had kind words for his ex, Gabby - telling her: “I’m really happy to see Gabby sat down and happy with Casey, it’s beautiful to see so I love that” he then explained his choice saying: “This is a situation of deciphering who I feel like really has strengthened and grown more in here…”

Later, Kaz didn't hold back telling the group: “I care a lot about Elma…I don’t know if Sammy is the right guy.” To which Sammy said: “Do you not think I’ve proved that since I've been here…people grow up and change…”

Kaz explained: “If I’m being honest the way you lot handled the Ekin and Curtis situation, I didn’t agree with, that’s my opinion.” And finally Tina shared her decision - but became emotional. She said: “I love every single one of you individually and together, there’s a couple that I’d love to see more of and to see their journey continue..”

After the votes, the last couple to get dumped was revealed to be Harriett and Ronnie. The pair were emotional as they packed up their belongings and said goodbye to their fellow Islanders. Speaking to Maya Jama after their exit, the couple reviewed the fact they had been dumped by their fellow contestants.

Harriett said: "I know that Liv had a few opinions, because obviously she tried to speak to Ronnie in the past. So I kind of accepted that vote. But a few friends in there, like Sammy Tina, I didn't expect those girls to vote for us."

And looking to the future, the pair said they plan to pursue their romance away from the villa - as they previously dated after being on Love Island together before. Ronnie said: "People might say don't go back and all that, but that feeling, I just couldn't let go. With H, I am this person now that I've always wanted to be... A changed man. I've said I feel like I won."

Maya flagged that Harriett turned down Ronnie's request that she be his girlfriend while they were in the All Stars villa, but she said: "It's more like I know how I hope things will go. It's more I want to do it a bit more private. Last time it was very much everywhere. I know we are in the public eye and that's how it goes, but I want to do things a bit more private."
