LOVE Island fans have gone into meltdown after Whitney Adebayo posted cryptic comments about “new beginnings” - with many convinced she and Lochan Nowacki have split.
But the truth is far from what they are thinking.
In reality, the couple, who finished as runners-up on the 2023 series, have just moved in together.
And Whitney’s “new beginnings” comment was actually about their fresh start under one roof.
The confusion started when Whitney reflected on her future in a recent interview with US entertainment site iHeartRadio, talking about wanting a “solid king” and hinting at changes in her life.
Fans immediately jumped to conclusions, with some taking to Reddit to share their concerns.
One wrote: “I came on Reddit because Whitney’s new video on Instagram sounded like she broke up with Lochan, then bumped into her ‘I want to be seen as a trophy wife’ video. What’s her deal lately? It’s giving ‘I can’t wait to dump my bf.’”
Another added: “Wow, she really speaks about Lochan like an afterthought. As if he’s a placeholder. So sad.”
Speculation spiralled, with another comment saying: “She talks like she’s about to dump him to get a ‘real man.’”
The panic comes after Whitney and Lochan hit a rough patch last year, briefly wiping all traces of each other from social media before quickly shutting down split rumours.
Far from calling it quits, Whitney and Lochan have taken the next step in their relationship, officially moving in together.
The “new beginnings” she referenced wasn’t about leaving Lochan — it was about building their life together and be more vulnerable in her relationship.
Whitney spoke in a recent podcast, saying: “The baddy aesthetic isn’t what you lot said it was. The truth be told, baddies don’t get the good guys, baddies get the rappers and trappers.
“I want a solid king, I’ve already got that.
“But I want him to look at me like this is a trophy wife, not like, she’s going to spend all my money.
“I really want to step into my feminine energy and be more vulnerable.
“The big V word, and if you are from a Nigerian household, you already know that was beaten out of us from age 2.
“So it is going to take a lot of work but I’m willing to do the work."
The couple were runners-up on Love Island in 2023, won by Sammy Root and Jess Harding.
OG islander Whitney, who was hugely popular with viewers, met Lochan when he entered as a late bombshell.
